Ordering repeat prescriptions
The easiest and quickest ways to order repeat prescriptions are:
- using your NHS account (through the NHS website or in the NHS App)
- using the GP online system: Systmonline
These accounts show you all your repeat medicine and dosage and you can choose the ones you need.
You can also:
- fill out a repeat prescriptions request form
- bring the paper form to the surgery, when we are open.
You can order your prescriptions via our website, SystmOnline, NHS app, or in person at the surgery.
We do not take repeat prescription requests over the phone or email.
Please order allowing for 5 working days before you need to collect your medication.
Collecting your prescription
Dispensing patients
If you live in within certain villages in our catchment area, we will be able to dispense your medications to you. Please enquire if we can dispense to you.
You can usually collect your prescription from the Dispensary 5 working days after you have ordered it.
Pharmacy patients
You will need to choose a pharmacy from which to collect your prescription. We call this nominating a pharmacy.
You can change your nominated pharmacy at any time:
- on the app or website where you order repeat prescriptions
- at your GP practice
- at any pharmacy that accepts repeat prescriptions
If you have questions about your medicine, your local pharmacists can answer these. They can also answer questions on medicines you can buy without a prescription.
The NHS website has information on how your medicine works, how and when to take it, possible side effects and answers to your common questions.
If you would like to speak to someone at the GP surgery about your prescription:
- phone our dispensary team between 10am-12pm, or between 14.00-16.00 on 01462 417377.
- fill out a repeat prescription request form online using our website.
To ensure your ongoing safety, all repeat medications require regular review.
Before your review is due, we will usually contact you (up to twice) to arrange any necessary monitoring. This may include blood tests, blood pressure checks, urine tests and/or a short medication review discussion.
Your review date can be found on your prescription. We encourage you to take responsibility for checking this and booking any required tests in good time.
If your medication review becomes overdue, please contact the Surgery as soon as possible. While it is very unlikely that we would refuse essential medication, some medicines can cause harm if not properly monitored.
To support safe prescribing, we may occasionally issue a shorter supply of medication if monitoring has not been completed. This is to encourage timely review and ensure your treatment remains safe and effective.
Medication reviews are an important part of your care. They help us confirm that your medicines are still appropriate, effective and not causing unwanted side effects.

Take it to the pharmacy you got it from or bring it in to the surgery. Do not put it in your household bin or flush it down the toilet.
As qualified healthcare professionals, pharmacists can offer advice on minor illnesses such as:
- coughs
- colds
- sore throats
- tummy trouble
- aches and pains
They can also advise on medicine that you can buy without a prescription.
Many pharmacies are open until late and at weekends. You do not need an appointment.
Most pharmacies have a private consultation room where you can discuss issues with pharmacy staff without being overheard.
