Launch of community wellbeing hub for Ashwell and surrounding villages

Ashwell Wellbeing Hub

On Thursday 30th January, we are opening the Ashwell and surrounding villages community wellbeing hub. Hosted in the URC Hall, from 2-4pm, the hub will be run weekly by Garden House Hospice trained volunteers (Compassionate Neighbours) for our community members. This hub aims to promote health and wellbeing, so that individuals can feel more in control and able to live life to its fullest potential.

What to expect from the hub

· Participate in a in a restorative and strength building exercise group

· Have cup of tea and a chat with our team and other community members

· Gain information about local support services

This is a local collaborative project for our most vulnerable and socially isolated residents registered with the Ashwell and Bassingbourn GP. This initiative is led and organised by Ashwell Churches (St Mary’s and the URC) Ashwell Parish Council and Ashwell and Bassingbourn General Practice. We are also supported by the North Herts Community Wellbeing team and the North Herts Citizens Advice Bureau. This project was initiated by the Garden House Hospice, as part of an outreach community programme that has already set up more than ten community wellbeing hubs, in North Hertfordshire.
